In Silicon Valley there is a revolution with Mindfulness (Mindfulness) and zen meditation techniques. It should make us think they are the world's most innovative companies. Also, many senior managers and CEOs of large companies, even the financial sector, openly practicing meditation to gain global vision and perspective, and make better decisions.
Above 1000 Google employees have gone through the training program “Search inside yourself” based mindfulness (meditation techniques and attention). Google has a culture of high performance, namely, It is not only doing this program to improve the welfare of employees, but above all because they know it's a mental workout increase productivity, leadership and creativity of their employees.
In General Mills (one of the world's largest multinational) Meditation, mindfulness and yoga are revolutionizing the company. Janice Marturano is the driving force of the development program Mindful leadership, for which they have spent hundreds of executives. Even Steve Jobs era Buddhist zen, and declaring openly how the practice of Zen meditation became his world view and helped design Apple products.
The Research Center NASA Langley is introducing mindfulness meditation classes for their workers and to improve their welfare and productivity in a highly demanding. It has also implemented a program of mindfulness for Police officers in Oregon, geared to improving the resources to manage stress, improve attention and focus on the job skills and foster networking with people.
But What is the mindfulness? It involves a mix of different cultures oriental techniques that enhance attention, concentration and mental clarity. We are talking about the Zen meditation, el yoga, body scanner and other techniques that further enhance creativity, emotional intelligence and high performance.
For years now I have been advocating these benefits at conferences and courses I teach about stress management, high performance and meditation, I have personally experienced benefits after practicing mindfulness techniques in recent 7 years old. Not only that, I have argued that in the coming years these practices revolutionize the world of leadership and business, introduced as a essential training for managers and entrepreneurs. What surprises me is that companies positively most successful and innovative technology in the world are the pioneers of these practices apparently "soft". But "soft" ... nothing. Because care techniques (mindfulness) are related not only to stress reduction, but with the performance, a greater ability to focus on what's important, clarity to make better decisions, and an ability to stand back and look at everything with a greater insight and perspective. Not by chance, I've been teaching the course two years in a large bank and in which I have taught these techniques to a 150 managers called "High individual and team performance“.
The revolution of mindfulness is there. The big question is how much will it take to settle permanently as essential to business strategy? Two years?, five years? Time will tell, but if a company wants to lead your industry and stay in that position for a long time, must study very seriously implementation of programs of mindfulness among employees.
