We know that China's economy has managed to be among the largest in the world and over the past 20 years has grown at an annual rate of nearly 10% of GDP. Logically, there are many factors that have contributed to make it happen. I want to highlight in this article one of them, which is collected in a simple, in the philosophy of one of his old proverbs. Dice the more less well: "The man whose face does not smile should not open a shop"
I recently started a coaching process with an executive of a multinational. When I met him for the first time, I was struck by his sympathy, their closeness and security. I knew I had a great career and everyone sees in him a great potential to further promote, but to know I understood why. Asked what he thought was his greatest strength, without hesitation he replied that his positive attitude to what happens in the everyday. You'll confess - I said in the session- this ability has cost me develop, because before I left constantly swayed by negative thoughts, I was more comfortable; but one day I decided that if I wanted to succeed in my work and in my personal life, had to project an image of success. He shared with me the technique I always used to get, with both customers and partners. Before meeting with them, is for a couple of minutes to think about the accomplishments he has achieved in his life, and connected with that feeling of success and power that makes him into the meeting room with a smile and take that positive attitude that eventually spread to the rest of the attendees.
This simple technique very powerfully influence how he sees himself and how others perceive you.
The actions we take and the emotions we feel are related; if we regulate the action, which is which is under the direct control of our will, We can regulate emotion, that is not.
Everyone seeks happiness, and there is a sure way to find. Is to control our thoughts. We have the power to choose among all the thoughts that come to mind, with which to stay. With that paralyzes us and makes us feel that we have failed or that compels us to act and be every day a better version of ourselves. Happiness does not depend on external conditions, depends on internal conditions.
What happens we can see it as something terrible or as an opportunity to grow as a person and as a professional. We must be honest with ourselves and think where is our responsibility in what happened to us and what can we do to improve this situation. See how we can take this new circumstance that has arisen us, to turn it into an opportunity.
It is not what we have or what we are or what we do, what makes us happy or unhappy. It is what we think about all this.
For example, two people may be at the same site, doing the same; both may have the same money and the same recognition, and yet be a happy and the other not. Why? For a different mindset.
As Abraham Lincoln said: "Most people are about as happy as they decide to be".
