We are all afraid and is not always bad to have it because there is a healthy fear, which it is what protects us and allows us to be prudent and put his head when making decisions. However, there is also an unhealthy fear, toxic, which it is what paralyzes us, not allowing us to move or take on new challenges for fear of being wrong or we reject, leaving no shine. This is the fear we have to recognize and fight to avoid stopping point, to prevent us from risk, take certain decisions or transit paths trodden by others not before.
The term VUCA is an acronym coined by American soldiers at the end of the year 90 to define the world in which we lived. This term is now mentioned by all business gurus, to describe the essential characteristics of the business world.
VUCA is composed of the initials of 4 words to define the world in which we live today:
Volatility. Everything changes at an ever faster pace, situations are volatile, unstable. El cambio es permanente en nuestras vidas y en las empresas: reestructuraciones, mergers, cambios culturales, etc..
Uncertainty. Today's world is uncertain. We do not have certainty and security about nothing. Uncertainty about our future is full. Nobody knows what will happen in a week, or within a month.
Complexity. Las situaciones son cada vez más complejas para estar focalizado o para tomar decisiones. There is much information overload and stimuli, plus global connectivity, which complicates the most of our world.
Ambiguity. Today's world is ambiguous, there are no absolute or unquestionable truths about nothing. The circumstances and decisions can be approached from very different points of view.
